Meli's Alterations

Herriman, UT · checked on the web Friday, August 28, 2026

The stats barely exist — and that is the finding.

No website. One visible review. A Yelp listing with no star rating on it. This is a real storefront running on walk-ins and word of mouth, with essentially zero online footprint.

I could not get their Google review count. That is the number that actually matters. Google Maps blocks my fetches and your Google Business Profile access is still unwired. Unknown — not zero.

Name match — confirm this

Your voice note came through as "Mellie's alteration on the Hermann." I resolved that to Meli's Alterations in Herriman, registered as MELI'S ALTERATIONS LLC. Strong match, but you have not confirmed it — if I have the wrong business, stop here and tell me.

The location is genuinely good

They sit in a live retail strip on the 13400 South corridor. Immediate neighbours at 5502–5530 W 13400 S: The Pub, State Farm, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, Guras Spice House, Family Focused Eyecare. America First Credit Union at 5438. This is a real commercial storefront with foot traffic, not a spare-bedroom sewing operation.

What I could NOT verify — do not treat as fact

⚠ They are a competitor, not a neutral prospect.

CleanMeNow offers "all standard alterations, bridal." Same service line, neighbouring city in Salt Lake County.

Building them a website means handing a competitor of Carmen's the one thing they are missing. That is a real conflict and it is your call, not mine. I am flagging it, not deciding it.

What I recommend

1. As a place to send alteration work

Can't recommend them. One review is not a track record. That is not a knock on their sewing — there is simply nothing to judge them on.

2. As a web-dev / copy client

Textbook fit on paper, blocked by the conflict. Real storefront, no site, no reviews, in a plaza with traffic. Exactly the profile you want. But see the box above.

They also fall outside your stated verticals — alterations is not on your belief list, and your intent filter outranks margin.

3. What I'd actually do with this

Treat it as competitor intel. A direct alterations competitor with zero online presence tells you the local alterations market is being won on Google by almost nobody. That is a CleanMeNow opportunity, not a Meli's one.

Your options

  1. Open Google Maps on your phone and read me their real review count — that closes the one gap that matters, in ten seconds.
  2. Wire up Google Business Profile read-only access so I can pull these numbers myself going forward.
  3. Tell me the conflict doesn't bother you and I'll build the full prospect brief.
  4. Point me at a different business if I matched the wrong name.

What I did and did not do

Did: web research only, and saved a competitor record to your memory.

Did not: call them, email them, contact them in any way, or reach out through any channel. No outreach happened.
